The 147th running of the Irish Derby was held on Sunday 30 June 2012 over 1 mile 4 furlongs of The Curragh. Subscriptions were €21,500 with a first prize of €725,000. The winner was owned by Mrs Susan Magnier, Mr Derrick Smith and Mr Michael Tabor, bred by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al-Khalifa in Ireland, trained by Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle, and ridden by Joseph O'Brien. The winner won by 2 lengths in 2 minutes 43.96 seconds, with 9 lengths between second and third.
